2007 Benefit Drawing Details

Ticket sales begin in August for a 2008 Corvette convertible with 6-speed automatic and 2008 Corvette coupe with 6-speed manual.  Winners will be determined at the Gala Benefit Drawing Party November 3rd 2007.

This is a moderately expensive but “great odds” event in that a maximum of 500 tickets are sold for $250 each.  This provides each ticket holder two chances of winning a new Corvette.

All proceeds are given to charity.  We plan to provide $20,000 to the Spina Bifida Association of Greater Dayton which will be used to assist nearly 100 families in purchasing specialized medical support and to enable children to attend an all-accessible Summer camp each year.  Any additional proceeds will be given to Dayton area charity organizations.  This is our 24th year in managing this successful event.

Each ticket holder may also bring a guest to the Benefit Drawing Party featuring a live band and complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beer, champagne and soft drinks.  The drawing begins as a “reverse order” drawing.  Ticket holders may view their ticket stubs before they are put in a barrel, and the tickets are drawn out one-by-one until the last remaining ticket wins the first car.  The 499 non-winning tickets are then put back in the barrel, and then the winner of the second car is drawn as an “instant winner”.  Other door prizes are presented throughout the evening.   We appreciate your participation!

We have submitted an article which should appear in the Summer edition of NCCC’s Blue Bars magazine.  It will highlight Corvette Troy’s exceptional accomplishment of donating over $340,000 to charity during the past 24 years.  The club’s $1,000 donation to Miami County Hospice in memory of Ev Shuman and Jay Lamka was recently highlighted in the Hospice newsletter.  The club’s $500 donation to the Union Township Life Squad was a feature story in the Troy Daily News.  There are twenty or more people in the club who have contributed significant hours to this for many years and the involvement and support of the entire club has made this possible.
