Corvette
Troy hosted another successful and fun event in 2005 that generated over $20,000
to assist the Spina Bifida Association of Greater Dayton.
Corvette Troy’s benefit drawing events since 1984 have now provided
over $300,000 to assist Spina Bifida families!
At the end of this article is information on how you can
participate in the next Corvette benefit drawing … you could be a future
winner!
SPINA BIFIDA SUPPORT.
We are pleased to have helped improve the lives of many Spina Bifida
children and their families over the past 20 plus years.
Spina Bifida is a life-long birth defect in which the spine has not
closed completely. One of every
1,000 newborns in the United States is afflicted; the effects vary widely per
individual, and often includes paralysis and many other complications.
Funding
provided to the Spina Bifida Association of Greater Dayton is used to assist
over 200 individuals in purchasing needed medical equipment and to enable
children to attend an all-accessible Summer camp each year.
Corvette Troy members value both our professional association and
friendship with the Spina Bifida community.
HAPPY CAMPERS!

CORVETTE DRAWING.
Two new Corvettes are given away each year.
This is a moderately expensive but “good odds” event in that a
maximum of 500 tickets are sold for $250 each.
This provides each ticket holder two chances of winning a new Corvette!
Each
ticket holder may also bring a guest to the gala Benefit Drawing event featuring
a live band and complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beer, champagne and soft
drinks. The drawing begins as a
“reverse order” drawing. Ticket
holders may view their ticket stubs before they are put in a barrel, and the
tickets are drawn out one-by-one until the last remaining ticket wins the first
car. The 499 non-winning tickets
are then put back in the barrel, and then the winner of the second car is drawn
as an “instant winner”.
The
evening also features 50-50 drawings which result in several winners of $300 to
$1,000 prizes. Other complimentary
prizes are presented throughout the evening.
Typically around 600 people attend the drawing party and all agree it is
a fun evening which benefits a great cause!

Spina Bifida Christmas Party.
The annual
Christmas party provides an opportunity to spend some time with the Spina Bifida
kids and families. We enjoy pizza
together and always have a great time. Santa
visits each year and presents toys specifically chosen for each of the kids.
Entertainment such as a puppet show or magic show is enjoyed by all.
